A question for those of you who have used both Barbasol Pacific Rush and Aqua Velva Ice Sport, how do they compare? I thought Pacific Rush was quite harsh and wouldn't want to waste my money on Ice Sport if it is similar.

Pacific Rush is one of my favorites after shaves. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore. It has lots of menthol and a light fragrance.

I say try the AV, I find it to be quite soothing and nice level of menthol.

    Herm,

I found a bottle today at Big Lots. Not sure if you have that store where you live. The bottle was just $1. I also found a Pacific Rush balm.

With all this humidity, AV is the best of what I have now.

Good luck with it Perry. It was too harsh for me. Maybe if you cut it with witch hazel it would be ok.

I need to look a little harder for the Pacific Rush balm. I managed to find 3-4 bottles on clearance right before they sold off their remaining stock. I love this scent so much more than Brisk, and figured If I am not able to use it all I could always use them for trade.

I also prefer aqua velva. Of course, you can add "the shave den m bomb" to just about anything to improve it.

It seems that Pacific Rush elicits a love/hate response. I don't think I've ever heard anyone just say it's "OK".

My recollection is that it wasn't what I expected, but I didn't hate it.

I did the BigLots today and found the $1 Pacific Rush in both balm and AS. I prefer alcohol based AS so I only purchased that. My impression after a slightly harsh shave; great alcohol burn, but it's lighter on the scent than AV Ice Blue. Decent bit of menthol but I think I prefer Aqua Velva.

So a direct comparison ? was the alcohol burn greater with the Pacific rush ? and also the menthol level ?

I always felt the menthol was pretty heavy in Pacific Rush.

I've never noticed much of an alcohol burn with either, unless I had a rough shave. Then, I would say they are similar to any of my other AS. Both have a nice menthol level, that I would say is fairly equal again. The Pacific Rush menthol is definitely higher than the Barbasol Brisk.

I found Pacific Rush to be heavier mentholated than AV Ice Sport and the scents aren't really similar. I have pretty forgiving skin too so I found neither harsh. I like them both but would choose Pacific Rush over Ice Sport if I was pushed to.
