I find that I still enjoy a Barbasol shave and probably use it 3 to 4 times a month. My favorites are the Skin Conditioner (yellow), Arctic Chill (light blue) and of course Original (Red). I find with good prep and technique, that I get fantastic shaves. I have a soft spot for Barbasol as it will always have a spot in my rotation. Now I use and love my TOBS, Proraso and RazoRock the majority of the time but just can't help but reach every now and then for this piece of American history. Admit it, how often do you use it? P.S. don't judge me, LOL!
A travel size can of the red stripe is in my Dopp at work. Use it about 1x per week with a Techmatic, whenever I leave the house late. I prefer good soap but it works like a charm. No complaints here. I'd like to find a travel sized Menthol (which I really like) but I bet they don't make it.
I have a can I picked up at the Dollar Tree. I use it for shaving my pits. It has a nice smell; the cream that is.
Just went and looked at their site. There's a couple more scents of goo than I've seen, including Mountain Blast. Now I'm curious. http://www.barbasol.com/Barbasol-Shaving-Cream.html Also curious about this. http://www.barbasol.com/Barbasol-Shaving-Cream.html EDIT: Just saw at That Other Shaving Site that the Mountain Blast is kinda piney, woodsey smellin'. I'm a sucker, so now I want a can. Can't recall ever seeing it around, though.
Used the Red can for many years and still have a can stashed away. Can't bring myself to toss it! It would be like dumping an old friend! I'll have to dig it out and give it a go.
Haven't used canned goo since I took up a DE and brush about 8 years ago. And if I have it my way, I'll never use canned goo. It's your shave. Enjoy it your way.
BTW: I use it to "fog proof" my bathroom mirrors. Excellent use for it. http://dailysavings.allyou.com/2012/08/10/shaving-cream-uses/
Same here. Canned foam is NOT allowed in my house. Unless a guest of mine is sleeping over for the night or whatever.
If I'm in a rush, I have a can Barbasol Soothing Aloe on stand by. It's much better than the goo made by Edge, Gillette, Axe etc.
SOS to all the shavers at sea... Confirmed with the good folks at Barbasol that the purple isn't sold in my area. If anyone has it local, I'll gladly reimburse you for a can, shipping and your time.
