"I would buy a barrel of Bay Rum Balm but basically buying barrels of Bay Rum Balm is beyond the Balm Realm of Reality….bummer" no makers to my knowledge…..
Burt's Bees was fantastic stuff, both in fragrance and in soothiness. I've got about 1/2 a can of it left but I'm not married to it. Let me know if it'd interest you.
What about TSD Aftershave Milk, bay run scented? I use TSD Aftershave Milk once in awhile, unscented and I have been using TSD Bay Rum aftershave. Really like both.
You've given my an idea for my next balm/lotion-making session. I've plenty of bay rum and can whip up a scentless post-shave balm. Add some bay rum 'to taste' and voila!
Stirling sells a bay rum balm. Their bay rum shaving soap is one of my favorite bay rum scents, right up there with CC and Krampert's. Presumably the balm is the same scent, I haven't tried it though.
I have the Stirling Bay Rum balm, and it is excellent! It soaks in immediately, and conditions very well. I am also a huge fan of the scent. A quick word of advice though, make sure to shake it up well before each use- as the witch hazel tends to separate from the rest of the ingredients.
Just found this today at a local barber shop. Only used it once but I really like it. Very cooling and the scent lasts a long time. I was surprised to find out it is made a few hours away from my home.
WM Neumann and Gilbert Henry both offer a Bay Rum balm. However, I have not sampled either one. But if the WM Neumann Bay Rum is anywhere near as good as the Heartwood ASB that I have been using, then you should expect an excellent performer. I've used their Bay Rum AS and the scent is really nice, like a spicier Captain's Choice and assuming they can faithfully replicate this scent in the balm, then this is something I would try. If I had a complaint about WM Neumann it would be that their products are generally little bit more expensive. In my opinion it's worth the extra cost. All of the reviews I have seen regarding Gilbert Henry have been quite positive. Stirling has already been mentioned here and I think worth consideration. I had my first shave with Stirling shave soap (Coniferous) this morning and was very impressed. If the aftershave balm is nearly as good as my first impressions with the soap, it's worth the small investment. The soap is really nice.
