Poll only allows for ten blades and I have identified many more than that, so will list out the ones that are not on the poll: Sputnik, Astra, Dinosaur, Super Dinosaur, Mem Platinum, Dorco, Sharp, Persona Platinum, Persona Super Platinum, Treet, Treet Platinum, Treet Blue, Treet Diamond Edge, Super Max, Super Max Platinum, Personna Super Platnum Crome, 7am (Have tried all of these), Plumes, Personals, Mercuries, Dewy, Zepole, Laser, Gillette Rubie, Luxor, Bic, Percision, Bax, Shick Sur, Panda, Gld Cow and Para.
Crystal blades are the first blades I've been able to shave with on a regular basis without getting irratation. After I've perfected my technique I'll probably try some others.
My turn to learn something from Mottern, I did not know that Sharp made a second version. I have some Sharp blades in my medcine cabinet, how do these differ from the Sharp blades?
I have not tried the other brands of sharps, but the one in the green packet is the V2, Some others may chime in with more knowledge of the other Sparp blades. Here is the review. http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=386
I voted other, as I have a number of blades now that I enjoy using and which treat my skin good and give a smude shave Sharp v2 Treet Blue special Treet Platinum Dorco Platinum ST300 Wilkinson Economie Astra Superior Sputnik Feather Derby I wouldn't dare say which is the best ::
This kind of goes along with the discussion in one of the other threads. I match blade to razor. Some razors are good with a variety of blades. My main blades are Feather, Derby, Sharp and Israeli Super+ (IP)
I really like NOS Gillette Super Stainless or Platinum Plus. Current production favorites are: Sputnik, Astra Superior Platinum, 7AM, Israeli Personna (IP), Swedish Gillette (hassel to find and high pricing), Feather (like a shooting star...shines briefly for one or two good shaves then it's gone... the Sputnik, Astra S.P., or old Gillettes are better value...they last like crazy.) It's tough to judge sometimes as my technique is hopefully improving all the time... but an early DE career dislike is American Stainless Personna, Merkur, and Derby. Recent dislikes are: Supermax...., Derby (again), German Wilkinson I know some of you like my dislikes, and may dislike the ones I like... funny isn't it?.... lol. Well thanks for the opportunity to sound off about my fav. blades. Chris
All of those are on my list. If this site would give me the option of adding more blades more than ten I would create a longer list. It seems that thus far trader joe and I are the only ones here that use non-mainstream blades. The mainstream ones are the ones on the poll.
I really like the Gillette Silver Blue, Bic, and Lord blades. Still have a few other makes to try. Really good that we have such a large selection
Yeah, no Wade and Butcher, so I picked Euro Gillette (which I assumed someone meant the Swedish ones...if not, then I withdraw my support for this whole poll!)
My BEST shaves come from my SuperSpeed loaded with a Feather. That said..... I despise the Feather blade in every other razor Ive ever tried one in. I voted DERBY'S Smoothest, most consistent and most versatile blade there is. And, of course...... MOITOOTM * !! *My opinion is the only one that matters
Swedish Gillette, so voted "Other". Euro Gillettes can include other brands, like the "Bleue Extra", which are nice blades, but no Swedes.
