I'm looking for good creams and soaps that won't clog up a 5-blade cartridge. Ease of rinsing, slickness, lather-ability and closeness important. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would say for you to try C.O. Bigelow/Proraso, it's lather isn't quite as thick as some of the tub creams but is very slick. Also Arko creams are about the same consistency, all good stuff and very cheap.

Any of the Palmolive - stick or cream - soaps would be good too.

I'd add Pre De Provence and Provence Sante shave soaps.

Nivea is also a good cream to use with a razor like that.

What about kiss my face? it seems to not be very thick, Today i used TBS maca root and it was ok but can find a better one for a multi blade I used a live 5 razor.

Cant go wrong with Kiss my Face, it is super slick and lathers good. If you like menthol, try CO bigelow.

I came to DEs because all carts would clog for me. Now the only cart I use is the Gillette Guard from India, via Ebay. They are 5¢ in India and 27¢ via Ebay, while the five blade sells for $1.50-2.00 in the US. The Guard can't clog, it's fast, easy, and the blades last 2-3 times longer than other carts.

I don't use a 5 blade cart but my gut tells me a very slick, thin shave cream would be best. Perhaps Cremo would be good, it's definitely slick and thin. I'd avoid most canned goop and any high piling lathers, they will just increase the clogging.

Speick creme is a good performer. I often use it on my VDH soap to superlather.

Want to try the Palmolive menthol creme sometime soon.

I just used a five blade cart for the first time yesterday. I used Provence Sante and the results were great.
