Since my conversion to face lathering (why did I wait so long to do that) I have been contemplating some shave sticks for travel. Seems to make the most sense. I have an empty SCS deoderant container and plan on melting one of JoAnnas soaps into it.

    What sticks are your favorites.

Bong, you ever use a shave stick just to touch up with. Example, rub it over your face and then do a touchup pass?

I have heard mixed reviews on the ogallala soaps. Have you used them Jim?

How does that work and do you use a tallow based or glycerin based for that.

I have a couple QED sticks I got in trade, and a harris stick, a palmolive stick and Speick stick. the Palmolive is my favorite.

works quite well, don't have to reload the brush to finish off the shave that is nice.

I've used the soaps, not the sticks (yet), and I really like them

I have used DR Harris for many years. I recently discovered Palmolive which is a better value at 1/3 the cost.

Boots in England makes a smashing stick.. And do not forget a classic.. The Arko stick is wonderful..

Arko is dirt cheap, but I can't stand the smell. I just recently gave my stick away, didn't even attempt to try shaving with it.

I found the Arko stick mediocre. The shave was okay but the scent was horrible.

Tracy you need to email Mark at Superlather and get in on this Irisch Moos request. I know you've followed all the hoopla and are familiar, but supposedly it's made by M&W (Tabac) and performs the same. If true that's a can't miss.

I never got on the stick wagon. I had 2 QED sticks....sold one and melted one down. I still have a SCS one but it doesnt get the love. I like the concept especially with traveling but dont care about rubbing soap on my face. Different strokes for different folks i guess.
