Thanks. I wondered about that. Thus far I've only used it on razors without paint or where the paint was already pretty beat up. Any worries about gold wash coming off as well? I've used the ultrasonic on gold plate/fill (watch cases) without concern for years. But that's thicker stuff.
Be very careful with gold wash and varnished and whatnot because yes it Can damage thin wash / plating or whatever...
I concur what @jaro said. Best bet with gold wash is soapy hot water and a tooth brush. Soak and scrub lightly.
