Bigelow & Dowse question

My boss handed me a Bigelow & Dowse straight razor she found in a storage box full of her late grandfathers' personal items. The razor box is quite worn down and the razor has rust on the blade. Since I'm not a straight razor hobbyist I don't know if the razor is sought after or can be restored. Any information on the brand of Bigelow & Dowse would be helpful. If it is to be restored she is going to have it done. BTW, I see on the box #524-5/8 if that means anything.

I've tried in the past to load a pic but couldn't. Must be doing something wrong.

 

We need pictures to assess the condition. Bigelo & Dowse was a Hardware importer in New England in the late 1800’s. I’m guessing, doe to lack of pictures, it’s likely produced in Germany.

 

Can I get a quick lesson on attaching pics.

When I hit Upload File I'm getting a message file too big.

 

Resize the file size to 50%. That does the trick for me.

 

You can use a photo program on you computer to crop the photo or you can use Postimage.org to help with your resizing issues.

 

File size limit is 1MB.

My pics are 3KB in size.

I find this strange I can't attach a pic.
