I actually had a lunch hour today, so I cut some cast acrylic for some upcoming projects. I took this piece of black acrylic chucked it up in the lathe and did a little turning for lunch. Anyway, it was one of those moments while I was on the lathe I had Lynard Skynard's Black Betty stuck in my head. So here she is. Things went pretty smooth, other than Sparky got to the tape before I did. Well, she has long legs and maybe a little too much on the hips but I think she'll work out fine. A virgin Semogue 2000 knot relofted to 50-52mm. I had one of these before but couldn't remember the hole size I used so..... maybe down the road there might be an adjustment. Guaranteed a different hairdo tomorrow.
Looks great but I must admit a small part of me cries a bit when I see a knot go from a wooden handle..to a resin one
Beautiful!!! And with the shortened 2000 knot...it will the best piggy brush the world has ever known
That is truly beautiful. The shape of the handle seems wonderful, and I love the simple elegance of the shiny "all black" look. HOWEVER, and I hate to be that guy (not really) but "Black Betty" wasn't Skynyrd but the otherwise obscure Ram Jam. Or Leadbelly, if you're an "original artist" purist. Or others, if you're really an original artist purist. But never Skynyrd, to my knowledge. /that guy
