Feel free to post your blade reviews discussions in this thread I’m confused about all different personna US blades?! Even more so with the Israeli Personna’s I’m wanting to add some US made. Are these worth trying out? Reviews?
Yes. They are my top 3 blades. Personna lab blue, Personna red and Astra SP (green label) They are marketer as med prep blades, but are the same thing.
Lab Blues are very good blades, sharp. I also like Personna Platinum blades, also known as Israeli Reds, for me, a bit smoother than Lab Blues. Another good one is, which can be found in Pharmacies and other places, are in a generic silver and white blade dispenser. They are sometimes under the store brand and just say Stainless Steel on them, also good blades. There are others, like these mentioned at The Shave Nook........... http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=24633
I know I am in the minority but the lab blue's just don't work for me. The Israeli Personna's are good though. Sent from my Galaxy using Tapatalk
I do enjoy the lab blues and the (washed/sterile) med preps. Been a while since I checked, but my local Kroger was stocking the generic/store brand Israeli Personna.
Finally got to test the personna Israeli red/ uk blue pkg..... Did not like them much in Merkur 38, tech, single ring, feather popular. Tried it in a adjustable slim at 8 and 9 and BAM!!! Great shave. Not what I expected from a higher rated blade. I was expecting it to be like Astra or rapira lux, voskhod. Which are all round great performing blades for me. It is still a top tier blade just surprised I did not love personna reds in the other razors. I still have a few more razors to test.....
more testing on the persona red (israeli red, UK packaging) with old style.... Meh... not super close and had some irritation not sharp enough for focus r48 Maggards V3A head , and Razorock German 37 slant............ WOW super close!!! as good as my novice straight razor skills, and a BBS as i can get, with NO alum or AS feed back, and NO latent irritation feel. used light pressure, low angle/ride the cap with multiple passes. one razor is a new blade one has multiple shaves and can't tell the difference. until these 2 razors i was questioning my top tier rating of these blades, i would prefer them to perform well over a broader range of razors but the epic closeness on these 2 razors confirms top tier rating.
