Has anyone else done this? I had come to the bottom of three favored TOBS cream tubs and couldn't bear to toss out the containers. Decided to save some room in the shave cabinet, so I combined some Coates Sandalwood with the TOBS Sandalwood. Next, combined Coates Lime with TOBS Grapefruit and finally added Coates Lavendar and Rose to TOBS Avocado. The resulting cream blends were a little softer than the original TOBS and had noticeably stronger scents. Next morning shave was with the Lime/Grapefruit mix. Wow! A real lather Bomb with excellent lubrication. Very nice DFS+ shave. Success! These cream blends work very well - of course, they did begin with two excellent creams.
I experimented mixing small amounts of several TOBS creams together for a frankenscent cream last weekend but didnt manage to find any new wonder scent. I have thought of blending wm Nuemann Absolute Zero with Tabac For a menthol monday/tobacco tuesday blend.
I mix creams soaps and croaps all the time. Mixing allows you to control either the consistency of the lather, the scent produced, or both. I have 2 mixes in my normal rotation.
Well, I haven't tried it , either. Can I borrow $457.00 until next payday? I'll get a bottle & let you know how it is.
Blending anything can be a lot of fun. I haven't done creams, but I have with soap and cream, and soaps on their own.
I put all my slivers, tags and samples too small to lather in a container and grab that occasionally to see how it works. Just finished up a mix of TSD, VdH, Tiki, Stirling and B&M. Great shaving!
