I picked this up at my supermarket today, to give it a try. For anyone who hasn't heard of it, it is a handcrafted artisan soap for the hands. The kind I got was New Harbor Unscented Oatmeal.. It's pretty expensive for just one block($4.99), but at least the shipping was free(drove it home muhself, lol). I'll be having a closer look at ManHands soap now, to compare. But this soap seems to be OK.
I must say I do enjoy this soap. It'd be nice if the folks at Block came up with a manly-scented one, but for now, I'll just get another "New Harbor" when I'm done with this one.
I had a Stirling Barbershop Bath soap-2 actually. Used most of the 2nd as a hand-soap at my sink-just like Block now.
to follow up: I now think it's a pretty good deal at $4.99, as here it is Feb 6, and still a good amount left.
I've used these bath soaps from Stirling: Glacial Lemon Chill Glacial Spearmint Glacial Wintergreen (no longer in production) Glacial Obsidian MITA Lavender The best bath soaps I ever used - bar none!
I just ordered some Stirling soaps for my wife and myself. Their blocks are 5.5 oz for $4.25, but of course there's shipping. My wife liked the Tea Tree sample sent with my last order.
An update for anyone who's been using Block Soap(well, like me of course, chuk yuk yuk). They now have it in liquid soap form, as well. But it costs more than the blocks. My experience with liquid hand soap is that it gets used up quicker than bars. I think Block Soap blew it with this idea-I mean, what will happen now, they change the name to Block Or Liquid Soap(We Thought We'd Try The Latter Just To Provide An Alternative)? I'm stickin with the blocks.
And an update-I didn't see any at the supermarket today...looks like I'll have to order my future handsoaps(Stoylin, Central Texas Soaps, Manhands, etc).
Since you guys mentioned Stirling bath soaps, I have been enjoying their 'sheep' bath soap. It works well for my dry skin.
