If your only choices were boar or silver tip what would you choose?
No best, pure, or black badger, no horse hair!
    Boar and Silver tip only!

I would let my beard grow back. Other wise this is what I prefer.

    I like both.
IF I had to choose only one, my face enjoys the softness of a good silvertip brush.

    Call me a 'softie'.....:o:o:o

Which boar and which silver tip? The cheap, stiff VDH boar or a top of the line Omega or Semogue? A cheap, low quality or basic silver tip, or a top of the line, high quality knot? Vintage or new?

Boar or Silvertip. My answer is YES!
It is also YES to 2 Band Finest Badger and to Generation 3 and 4 Synthetics.

    It depends upon my mood.

    A decent brush either way.
    A 45$ boar and a 70$ Silver tip.

    In that case, boar.

I did boar because my well seasoned Semogue 1305 works nice with hard soaps, soft soaps, and creams. Gotta be one of the best values on the market at ~$23.00 shipped from Bruno. A very versatile brush. :)

Boar for me, can't seem to use badger brushes without some discomfort. Also I love my Semogue boar brush :)

I agree,I use some soaps, but I really enjoy creams
and with my favorite creams a badger makes them ultra luxurious.
so if I could only have one it has to be a silvertip

Choosing a badger creates a dilemma for me as I prefer soaps and the boars excel at the firm soaps.
    Everything must be a compromise….synthetic, maybe? ;)
