I got a new pair of boat shoes, haven't had them since I was a youngin. How do I get the laces to look like this: Or this:
When you find out.... lemme know, wiil ya ? I always have a pair of TopSiders in the closet. never have figured out how to make the leather look good.
Well, I used to just tie a square knot or "Reef Knot" but even those tend to slip. You might want to try this knot. http://www.shoe-lacing.com/shoelace/secureknot.htm Trim the excess.
In general shoelace-knotting terms: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm If that link don't have it, it might not exist!
I have been wearing boat shoes all my life. Living on a island, well, is just part of your dress code. I spent all of my teenage years racing sailboats so using top siders was mandatory. I just tide them with a regular knot never had a problem, still dont. Matter of fact I'm wearing mine today and Ijust slip them in like they were sandals. No socks of course. Raf
