Ok so I finally got in line with with ordering the Seygus brass razor, lucky me I catched the last window of the anniversary preorders, I guess since its preorder and first of the batches we get them at better price + bunch of engravings on them. So I was like hey let me look up ebay for shaving brushes in brass, and found one NOS in wooden box with brass cartridge looking razor? looks like accepts the Gillette twin blades AtraPlus or Trac2? Anyways I tried to cheapo and offered the dude 10 bucks for the brush but he wouldn't budge cause he wanted to sell it as set lol. I was like I got to have that brush so after intense OBO battle back and forth I settled for $17 shipped. Anyways Now the hunt for brass stand in great shape if not new begins.... Here are the pictures of the razor and the brush, enjoy. Oh btw I don't have them in my possession, but soon yes!!!
Where were these for sale? I'm following seygus on Facebook and never saw these before? I would have ordered one of the swirly handled ones
I got into the ordering too late so I the swirled handles were all sold out, apparently they only made a handful, but I think I like more the knurled one more, looks longer and beefier
Received it and its a mild but very fine shave, impossible to cut your self and buffing leaves you with no chances for irritation. Yesterday I shaved with the Futur replica on #6 with Feather blade and today I had very little beard growth, so usually when I have very little beard growth achieving BBS shave is harder for me even with very aggressive razor and sharp blade due to the bras not being able to bend the hairs because they are too short... For my surprise I achieved very nice shave with it with a Persona blade that I already used twice so this was its 3rd shave, nice. very smooth razor to do buffing with it or touching up, not sure why some people are saying that they cant get good shave with it because supposedly they have strong beard.... technique in question perhaps? Considering shaving yesterday with the Futur on #6 with feather and today with the mild Seygus with 3rd usage on the Persona its like a day and night between both shavings, different techiques applied for each but both shave experiences were unique in their own way. So yes I enjoyed both shaves, I guess I like both the very aggressive razors and mild razors. Here is a picture of it but I end up pinning the rest of the razors next to it, if you guys want some more detail pictures of the razor on its own just let me know
The brass no name razor included with the brush was sold under a variety of brands. Old Spice and Barbershoppe being two. That set dates from the late eighties to early nineties, to give you an idea of the brush's age.
Way more than one, actually. This one seems to be the best deal. Comes with a brass handled brush, too. http://m.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-BRASS...NO-BLADES-6-1-2-TALL-/391410959794?nav=SEARCH
