I now have my brushes settled in their new surroundings. They may have lost their natural light, but they have gained some nice shelving that adds some contrast to the otherwise white Nook. The setup... The Boar Shelf... The Badger Shelf... The Synthetic and SOTD Shelf...
Love it! That's the idea I wanted to do to my bathroom eventually, so my brushes can be displayed when not in use, instead of being hidden in my medicine cabinet.
Your display looks just great Brian but don't let my cat in there.. he'd be all over those shelves..:cat:
I've tried one horse and didn't like it. It's the only brush that I've traded away. It was the Vie Long 13061 50/50 dyed version. I wanted to love everything about it, but the more I used it the more it gave me brush burn. Mine was not soft for me though the guy I sent it to loves it and finds it to be very soft at the tips. Who knows, I'm just having to much fun with the Muhle synthetics to be concerned. The Black Fibre is amazing and I am currently awaiting the arrival of a Silvertip Fibre.
I hear ya. I tried some that a friend loaned me and felt the same way. Gorgeous brushes and they lather beautifully, but just too needle-like. My Omega 6217 pure black badger is much, much easier on my cheeks! I found the "pro" horsey style with the wood and metal handle to be the most forgiving in this regard, probably because of the very long loft...don't know for sure. By the way, is that a Simpson's Commodore and if so what size? I just ordered an X1 from WCS and I'm very much looking forward to trying it. - John
Yes, John, that is a Commodore & it's an X2. It bloomed huge, more than I would have liked. I think I would like the X1 better. So if you find the X1 too small, then maybe we could swap! Don't get me wrong, it's a great brush that just covers a little too much real estate for me.
Nice shelves, nice brushes! It's good that you have the brushes out where you can see and enjoy them! Good for us, too!
