Hello Gent's.. Has anyone tried the C.O. Bigelow shaving cream from Bath and Body? I've read that Proraso makes it for them, bt want to make sure it's up to par with Proraso.. I love Proraso, it's the first Cream/Soap that I used when starting, but if this C. O. Bigelow is the same, it will be easier to pick up, than ordering Proraso online, and waiting for it in the mail. Any Opinions???

Well not identical. There are some threads that have pics of the ingredient lists. They are very similar but not identical.

Sorry, I've only used Bigelow and had heard it was exactly the same. My bad!

Thanks ALL.. Looks to be basically identical, and from what my daughter told me, with a coupon, C.O Bigelow can be had for half the price of Proraso.. Looks like I'm on my way to Bath and Body tonight to get a tube, or 3.. I'll most likely just get one, just to make sure there the same. Thanks Again for the reply's, and the link.

The only difference that I see is that Proraso has Cinnamal, and Eugenal.. Other than that they are Identical in the ingredients used in making both.. After doing a quick Google search, Cinnamal is a yelow oil like substance, that gives Cinnamon it's spice. It's basically used by Proraso for it's fragrance. Eugenol is basically Clove oil, and is also used for fragrance, as well as for rashes, and minor skin irritations.. Which is great for DB shaving.. Although, from everything I've read, the difference in smell, and performance in a shaving cream, is minimal... They are basically the same product, in different packaging, that smell, and lather the same. They are both excellent shaving creams..

    Hello all:

I'm new here (both to this forum and to wetshaving) and I've wanted to try Proraso since I first started watching Geofatboy on youtube. It's good to hear I can get it locally. Thanks for this info!

Hello to you also.. Proraso was the first real shave cream that I used when starting.. Great Stuff.. Makes me wonder why I used Barbasol, and Edge, all the years prior.. Once you start using quality creams, there IS NO going back. Makes a huge difference in the quality of a shave.. Also, it lathers like crazy, and with a good brush, a small fingernail size drop produces enough lather for a 3 pass shave easily. Cost effective, a tube will last you a while.

I never tried the Bigelow cream, but I did try the Proraso green-tubed cream and green-bowled soap. Unfortunately I dislike the both of them intensely for the lack of skincare. On the other hand, the Proraso Aloe & Green Tea soap is a delight to shave with. The scent is so nice, and the lather is a pleasure to work with, and it's so soothing and gentle to fragile skin. It contains more than enough menthol to be felt, although less than the green versions.

It's the made by Poraso. IMHO it's the best shave cream out there. I had to order mine from Amazon. Try it along with Poraso aftershave !:signs021

I agree, It is a great Shave Cream, seems that my Merkur just glides over it, which result's in a great shave with no skin irritations, razor burn, etc.. It also leaves my face well moisturized after shaving. Try Mama Bears shave soap Fleur De Soul for a different option. Has Rosewood, Patchouli, and Black Pepper oils for an excellent shave, and moisturizer.. Although, what works for some, may not work for others.. Works for me though.. Highly Recommended..

This was my shave this morning! Great way to get started on a hot, muggy summer day.
Fantastic stuff! As an added bonus, B&BW often has this on sale for Buy 2, Get 1. Might as well get it, since after you try it, you'll always have it in your rotation. :D
