These Calani soaps are made in Germany by a lovely young lady named Cathy. Very honestly, I am not a big user, or even a big liker of artisan soaps, and the only ones I use are from JoAnna, Mama Bear once in a while, Tryphon, and this Calani brand name. Here is a review of Cadre Noir, which is wonderful. Ease of lathering: 9/10--Pretty easy to work into a rich and good lather. Longevity of lather: 9/10--Stays stable even for more than 1 pass. Very dependable. General skincare: 8/10--Quite moisturizing and protective, so sensitive skin should like this stuff. Scent: 8/10--The Cadre Noir is very perfumy, but nice. Tends to linger, however. Price: 10/10--I received this soap in a trade with a gentleman from Gut Rasiert. Would I buy again: 8/10--I suppose so, but I want to try a differently fragranced soap from her first. A really good soap which will deliver very well on the lather and performance, as well on the skincare. These Calani soaps are quite generously-perfumed, so remember that the scent will still be present for a while after you finish the shave.
I'm not very much into the scent and like almost all artisan soapmakers this soap has far to much scent for me. Looking at the lather this soap is a better one within the artisan ones that are not making glycerin based soaps. The lather is pretty stable. Skincare is very good. IMHO these soaps are used up to fast and so I think this soap is rather expensive.
Here http://www.rasur-online.de/default.php?cPath=24&osCsid=504f85cf08d7efa19c31dab16fcf5426 or here http://shop.nassrasur.com/de/Rasierseife/DR-DITTMAR-Spezial-Rasierseife-70g or here http://www.rasierladen.de/dittmar-c-3_832-2.html?sessID=0hrufo3r12j9le01bjb7n81mlienaaem I would prefer nassrasur.com because you can get a single puck there and it's a little cheaper.
