Hi. Have any of you ever ordered from http://www.bestbatt.com/ ? I was considering a backup battery for my Canon SD400, but it seems that they're priced in the stratosphere at about $60! Then, I found bestbatt where a Canon-compatible is priced at $6.99!! Not Canon-branded, but apparently of Japanese manufacture. Not sure how wrong I could go for the price, but just thought I'd see if anyone had an opinion - on either bestbatt or brand-x batteries in general. Do Lithium-Ion batteries leak? Wouldn't that be something?! Save $50+ on a battery and then have to spend a few hundred on a new camera!!! Thanks!!
Most of the batteries are made by a handful of manufacturers in the world. As long as the battery type and specifications match up they should be fine. Check with the company for specific camera compatibility and find out if they have a warranty if their battery damages your camera. Also check your camera warranty to see if it's voided if you use anything but one of Canon's batteries.
Nope. They specifically say the opposite. Out of warrantee anyway - but that doesn't mean I want to pay for repairs - or to buy a new one! Perhaps I'll just split the difference and buy a Canon from Adorama for $40 or so. Hell, that's half the price of a cheap brush!
Michael - Here's my .02: Get the OEM battery. You might save a couple bucks (or 50 of them) with the cheap battery, but its not guaranteed to work as well or work at all....and it could do damage to the equipment. There's better ways to gamble
I buy all my batteries for my Ham (Amateur) Radios at http://www.nicdladyonline.com/ there warranty and service is good they can even rebuild the one you have and use better batteries. your cannon batt is only $25.95 http://www.nicdladyonline.com/shop/...&cat=117&keywords=&match_criteria=&searchCat=
