As promised, here's some pics from my camping trip this past weekend at "Pike Lake": http://picasaweb.google.com/optionjoe/PikeLakeCamping Included are some real underwater pics, and what I think is a Blue Heron Enjoy
Not bad, not bad at all. The good thing is that they clean out very easily. I wore them the whole weekend - hiking, kayaking, etc. All I do was run them under a hose and BAM...... grime-be-gone. I don't think I'd necessarily recommend them for walking or hiking long distances, but I was able to hike in them with no problem.
Nice 'yak, Joe. Gotta Ocean Kayak Scupper Pro T/W in the same color, rigged up for fishing....Do you fish in your yak? LOL...I crave hooking something big and having it pull me all over hell's half acre before it wears itself out !!! Yak fishin' is about as 'extreme sportin' as I get...I usually just go out in the lake in the backyard and let the Bass take me for a ride but sometimes get to launch into the Atlantic with other yakkers, we go about 3 miles out & really get some wild rides courtesy of our piscine amigo's. (Check out the Ft. Lauderdale Yak Fishing Club website sometimes, way cool forums 'n reviews 'n links to Yak Fishers all over the country. You'll LYFAO at some of the pictures of the custom rigs some of these guys create. Some guys customize cars, a weirdo few customize SOT yaks) I've owned CROX stock for about the last year or so & made a tonna cashola off'em but could never find any in my size anywhere till about a month ago. Figured CROX had been so good to me, I bought 2 pair. Clogs & the sandals. Super comfortable (especially the air heel in the sandal model). As I'm still long Crox, I hope everybody @ TSD buys a pair or more & if you got some already get'ya a pair of the new sandals. That way I can afford to keep on buying fancy dancy shave creams 'n stuff. Nice pics, looks like you had a super nice camping trip.
Haven't gotten into the "yak fishing" yet - I am more of a sea-kayaker than anything else. Need to work on my roll, but got the other stuff DOWN. I also like big waves Here's one that hit me up last summer. Was taking a pic to my left and this little guy snuck up on my right (yes, I am sitting in kayak in the trough of this bad boy):
Nice pictures Joe. Looks like good place to catch eels. I did a lot of canoeing when I was younger. I had a Grumman Scanoe I could mount an engine to when I wasn't just paddling around.
