Well here we are. This is the final product in Castle Forbes' shaving Lineup (I am not including the Cologne, which is extra). So far in my humble opinion the Shaving Cream and After Shave Balm are special things. So could the Pre-shave be any better? Man oh man.. could it ever. Let's start with the standards. It comes in the same beautiful glass bottle as the ASB and in the same amount too, 125ml. I love the packaging of this stuff and the amount is pretty decent too. I'd love more.. but hey.. I can always buy more. The actual lotion is rather unique. It is opaque white and a mix between a straight liquid and the ASB. I like it since it is thickish but not too much so. It is very easy to apply but it will take you an application or two to gauge how much you want and where it goes exactly. Since it goes on clear it takes about 10 seconds to get a feel for it. It feels GREAT when it is on the skin. The stuff is water soluble which I think is very cool. It is not greasy at all and in fact it feels very silky when you put it on the skin. The most amazing thing though is how comforting it makes the skin feel without even touching it with a blade. The skin just FEELS better, it is very cool and hard to describe. Personally I could not detect a scent either which is always nice. It has amazing effects on the lather too.. it neither changes the actual make-up of the lather but at the same time makes it that much better. The blade just glided along and it felt like air. No bumps, skips or anything. Also the shave actually sounded distinctly different. It sounded as if more hair was being cut and the razor felt like it was going through more than usual even though the shave was physically easier. Rinsing is a snap. Water soluble means the remaining lather/product come off SUPER easy. Couldn't ask for more. So at the end of my shave, how do I feel? I have never this way after a shave before. It felt like I had not shaved and the hair just simply vanished. I have never had this smooth or close a shave and the skin afterwards felt like SILK. I was blown away, and the ASB only made the process even more enjoyable. It is now like 30 minutes post shave and I have literally never had a shave like this. So Ken.. what on Earth is wrong with this product? I can think of only one possible negative. This stuff costs 40 USD and for some people that is way out of typical product price-range and for a pre-shave it is easily the most expensive out there from what I have seen. If you can afford it though I don't see how anything could beat this stuff. To wrap it up, this is a perfect product in my view. I can't say enough good things about it and I am blown away. This will be a permanent staple in my shaving routine and the ONLY pre-shave I will be using from now on. It is THAT good. Try is NOW if you can! No.. now! Put down that fork and GO GO GO! In my opinion Castle Forbes Pre-Shave tremendously improves shaving quality. Skin feels much better protected and blades just gliding through during shaving.
