hey guys. I just got a brush in a local store. It's a german brand called titania.

I have really bad review for this brush. The bristles is kinda tough and it bundles of it stuck together forming spikes. Be warned.

I can't find much on it except that it's made in germany and is offered in egypt. And that, according to the description on the egyptian site, it is "safe".

    That knot's gone wild!
The handle is nice though. Do you plan to re-knot?

I don't know what they mean by safe. That's just how it is described on the Egyptian site that I saw it on. "Men's shave brush that is safe".

Re-knot means to remove the existing kn0t (cluster of bristles) and replace it with a new one. There are quite a few threads here (in "The Brush") on how to do that and where to get a good knot.

So, i have to send it overseas for the re-knoting to take place?

No, you can do it yourself. It's not that hard.

That is one nasty looking brush. Looks like it was in a cat fight. lol But the handle is decent looking.

is there any guide on how to re-knot the brush? Is silvertip badger bristle expensive?

These guys have great knots that are affordable. I'm sure someone who's reknotted brushes will be along shortly to give you advice. There are probably a few tutorials floating around google as well.

looks easy!!! i could give it a try if i could! so i just have to apply glue to put the next batch of bristle into the handle?

oh yea, would my brush handle spoil during the re-knot? Because it's made of plastic

WHEW that "IS" one ugly knot!!! But the handle does looks nice anyway...:) Good Luck on the reknot...I'm going to have to go to the site and check them out just for the handle...Are you sure it's a plastic handle? It could be resin or acrylic? :)

I just checked the price and it's only $4.99 American...

The plastic handle should be just fine as long as you follow the video and keep the handle inside of the second container and do not put it directly into the boiling water. It's the steam rather than the heat that unglues the old knot.

You'll want to use an epoxy rather than regular glue to adhere the new knot to the handle.

nope. it's hard plastic. And yes that is indeed a ugly knot. So ugly that only the manufacturer would like.

2 part marine epoxy works best, if I remember correctly.

It's common with the cheap brushes of 5 euro to have a nice handle and a knot like crap
I "step on it" before some years so i never bought again a brush like this except for re-knoting.
