I'am new to wet shaving, only been at it for a month. I have to say I really enjoy it and I look forward to shaving. I hope to learn more about vintage razors and possibly collect.
Welcome to TSD @streetdoc! Glad you joined us and I hope we can ease your transition into wet shaving. This is your thread right here so feel free to ask questions. Plenty of folks will be along to offer advice, opinions, even actual information. Vintage gear? Most often found in the wild razors tend to be Gillette made. Have you found some? You can post those in The Haul. If you've ordered something and anticipate arrival, there's What are you waiting on. Photos are always welcome. What are you seeking? You can place a Want To Buy ad. Lots of folks offer their extra or seldom used gear for sale in the Classifieds. If you have questions about using the gear you already have, want to work on developing your technique at lather making or razor handling, or just want to read a fast paced conversation between veteran shavers and newbies check out The 30 Day Rule/ Focus Group.
Welcome from Alabama! You have some excellent retail options in Chicago with Merz Apothecary and Shave Nation among others. I'll be in Chicago next month for a conference and always swing into the Loop location of Merz to check out the wet shaving supplies.
A warm welcome here from Northern Michigan! I'm just 4 hours north of Chicago--we're practically neighbors...
Thank you for the welcome! I have found that my best shave is coming from a 1912 Gem. I have a bunch of DE but I really prefer the SE Gem .
