Chrome/metal handles?

    Lads,

So I've been wetshaving for all of a week now, and already the bug has hit hard. Gotta say, my shaves are a lot more comfortable than they were (although still can only shave every other day, it's better than the twice a week my face could stand before - and no reappearance of shave bumps or ingrown hairs yet!)

I'm eyeing a nicer brush tho. Big fan of metal, and would love something to match my razor. I know Art of Shaving has a silvertip brush with a metal handle, but there's NO way I'm paying $250 for one! My hope was to find somewhere I can snag a chrome handle, and then use a knot from the Golden Nib (24mm Super Silvertip knot for $29.99!?!?)

Or, would it be easier to just find a brush on ebay with a chrome handle, and just replace the knot with a new one? (I'm assuming that knot sizes are universal, which may not be the case, obviously!)

Only problem I have with metal handled brushes is if you would happen to drop it would it break the sink? I've already had to replace my sink once from dropping a glass aftershave bottle. Not a good thing when one has a custom sink.

Not chrome, but an American brush maker used to make long handled Aluminum ones. They normally polish up pretty nicely. I'm sure you could find one on the bay or etsy. You might have some luck with a WTB ad.

I can't recall the name of the maker right now, but Im sure someone will be along with the info.

Rubberset! We have one, it is a nice handle.

Shoot, go to the hardware store and find a shiny chrome thing and glue a knot in it!

Not a bad idea, making a DIY brush. Hmmm.

My concern is appearance. Well, actually that's not MY concern, it's my wife's. She has a habit of tossing everything I leave on the counter either in my drawer (in our sink we have four drawers. I have one of them. That should say it all) or in the cabinet under the sink, to make room for her stuff. Was thinking something nice and shiny in a stand (she's kinda like a magpie, that way) would earn it a place on the counter's real estate. (For example, I found my Shea Moisture brush chucked under there this morning...)

There are no-brand brushes on eBay for less than $ 10, which have the chrome handle.
