Here's a recent restoration I completed for @david of central florida. The razor is a vintage Clauss razor of Fremont, OH; Model#107. The razor needed new scales and some blade work. Some specs: Carbon Steel blade; 6/8" wide, full hollow, round point, dbl. shoulder. Translucent honey horn scales, based upon shape of originals. Red acrylic wedge, lined in brass Solid brass pins, single brass washers and brass inner bearing washers. Honing Process: Chosera 1k, Naniwa SS 3k, 5k, 8k, 10k, 12k, Apache Strata finish. Linen/Leather strop Smoooooooth shaver! I've always enjoyed the Clauss razors I've owned.
Once you find yourself gazing longingly at photos of straight razors, you will succumb to the temptation of owning nearly every one you come across in decent shape! thank you!
I wish I had one razor in that good shape. I love the red brass lined wedge. Makes me want to try it with African blackwood scales.
