I'd go along with Primo. To be somewhat corny, I'd call this product "Clubman In The Wild West". The darkness of the bottle prevents us from reading the "ingredients", but it's quite manly and good-smelling.
I get some vetiver .... cedar, sage, citrus. Im sure there is more....And whatever makes up the “leather” nose
Indiana Jones wearing his fedora and leather coat standing in a grove of pines smoking a cigar. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Pinaud-Clubman/Clubman-Special-Reserve-27321.html
I've said before and will repeat here....I'm no Indiana Jones fan, therefore I'll replace Jonesy with another "Man of Men"-Jack Palance. I know he was more famous for his Skin Bracer ad, but I bet he tried Special Reserve a few times.
Not a fan of the Special Reserve. Sorry guys. I've tried. But it just emits an odor that my nose finds off-putting. I much prefer the original Clubman. That is my favorite scent of all my aftershaves.
Keith - thanks for that link! I tend to read basenotes.net reviews more than fragrantica, but this guy Musky Tusk nails it.
Since posting this I have discovered decanting out of plastic in to glass bottle ( vinegar bottle from dollar store)greatly improves the scent. I’ve also discovered special reserve’s high class cousin .... Encre Noir or Encre Noir Extreme by Lalique. This one is affordable, if you do you home work can found under $30 for 100 ml.
+2. All my Pinaud is in glass. Vintage bottles, well washed hot sauce bottles, new bottles bought just for that.
I love the SR... It just beats the veg for me, I use one or other everyday....shave or not...i could drink SR i like it so much....hmmm, vodka n SR ?
I tried to copy/paste the text, but something prevented that. Musky Tusk's review is currently 11th down on THIS PAGE.
