Coldest Menthol Cream

I was wondering earlier today which cream was the coldest, I even thought about making a thread about it....

Then I read boyextraordinare's post in the SOTD thread and it really disturbed me that we were thinking along the same lines....:

I have not tried the Mentholated Gillette cream yet. The Palmolive Menthol that I have (Indian) was fairly cold, IIRC, and so is the Godrej Menthol Mist. Noxzema is cold, but not as much as the Godrej. Ingram's is nice and cooling, too, but I'm not sure if it is more so than the Godrej.

I guess, from my usage, my order would be:

    Godrej Menthol Mist
    Proraso Green
    Ingram
    Proraso Red
Palmolive Menthol (Indian - discontinued, I believe)
    Noxzema

I'll have to try the Palmolive Menthol again soon (although the scent is not that pleasant) to see if it ranks higher....

I'm also hoping to have some TSD Subzero w/added menthol in a few weeks, too... :D (c'mon B-day!)

I'm sure Jeff will chime in shortly and tell us all how freezingly cold Denu is  :happy102

    :anifrozen :anifrozen :anifrozen :anifrozen

OK, OK, Denu is soooooooooo cold, that it can be felt an hour after the shave. Also, Palmolive Menthol-SC from Egypt, or Palmolive Menthol-SC from Italy are close behind. Very close behind. Here is a picture of the Egyptian version:

This thread reminds me of the “You know you’re a redneck if…” jokes.

You know you have the coldest, most heavily mentholated shaving cream if:

You need to use deicer on your razor.
Your shaving brush freezes to your face when you lather up.
    Your upper lip gets frostbite.
    Etc…

I was sent a tub of my time bath and body works shave cream with 10/10 as a PIF, (you can choose the level of menthol from 1[low] to 10[high].
That was pretty dang chilly, but I am going to add some tryphon mentholator to it to push the envelope a little further, then Osage(thanks Bill) myself afterwords. Matt the new smiley you had Sparky add will come in very handy

Mama Bears Iced soaps are pretty chilly. Godrej MM and Proraso Green as well. I also have a tub of Body Shop cream into which I added a few too many menthol crystals...that'll freeze your giblets!

Jeff, is Gillette Menthol colder than Godrej?

Proraso Green really isn't that cooling when compared to Ingram or Kent Red.

IMO, it's the other cooling & soothing ingredients in Proraso that make it stand out. Of all the products cited here, I think Proraso feels the nicest on the face.

No, Kaveh-I think the menthol levels are about equal, so with either cream, you will a super-cold shave!

JoAnna can make a custom Subzero Ice cream that will blow away any of the corporation Menthol creams.

I've not tried My Time Bath & Body's 10/10 cream yet (still on my list) but from what I hear, that one is the closest.

Mama Bears Awakening Soap is pretty darn chilly. IMO more so than the Godrej.

My chilliest is the My Time batha body menthol 10/10 which is some kind of chilly! I also have MB Awakenings which is pretty damn cold as well. I have plenty of mentholated stuff but those 2 are the coldest.

Jason, my dear friend--you have not yet tried this crazy Denu-Cream, or Egyptian Palmolive-Menthol Cream. I swear in God, they are unbelievable where a menthol effect is concerned. I sent a guy in Gut Rasiert a tube of the Egyptian Menthol Palmolive stuff, and he says it is almost impossible for him to support. Giovanni's Permafrost-Soap is frigid also! :)

You are right bro -- as soon as I find a source that stocks those two creams, I plan on trying them out! :1respect

I want to know what is colder, really.

    Lebanese Gillette or Godrej.

I've no doubt Godrej is a better cream.

    But is it colder?

BTW Gillette Foamy Menthol - which can be bought anywhere - is VERY mentholated. Buy a can for your gf or wife and try some...

Habibi, perhaps Godrej Menthol is a bit colder, just a bit. Also, so much more nice a scent, and better lather, and is have the good skincare! ;)

Lebanese Gillette menthol (soon to be discontinued) is mildly cooling, like a 5 out of 10, with 10 being the coldest. The coldest menthol cream is My Time Bath and Body menthol cream shaving soap when you order it with level 10 menthol. NOTHING is colder than Jean's cream. When you use Osage Rub afterwards, the combination of it and the cream is actually TOO cold.

Denu cream is about an 8 on the menthol scale. It's second on the coolness list.

Dean - have you tried the TSD Subzero cream w/ added menthol?

I wonder where that would fit in...

Yet another post calling it the coldest. I'm going to have to break down and order some I guess, to make the final determination. :D
