Attached is information on boar brushes from TSN. Teiste is a highly thought of and highly regarded gentleman on TSN. I found these threads to be very informative and I urge you to read them through. They contain excellent info on not only boars and badgers but the care and feeding of these brushes. Also attached is a chart that identifies the attributes of various Semogue boar brushes.

Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.

    I didn't learn anything new.

...but I've read those threads before. :D
I know I'm considered a bit of a brushmeister here at TSD, but Teiste has probably forgotten more about brushes than I've learned about brushes.

I learned several new things. That happens to me quite often.
My budget does not allow for $300 badger brushes. That is OK because
I do enjoy my 2 Omega boar brushes, and occasionally use my first one, the old VDH boar.

Still need to read those articles, but I'm gathering besides being brands themselves, Omega and Semogue are seen as to different types or families of boars?

Semogue Boar Brushes don't get the a lot of air time in Forums in general...I guess its because they are not Prestigious enough for some folks...They do some high quality brushes however non Prestigious they may be...;)

Those threads helped me decide on buying the 1800, I'm sure others will find them helpful too .

I don't own any Semogue brushes, no opinion.
I like to see, touch, smell a product before I purchase. Several dealers in my area stock Omega products under the American label Marvy. Same product, with markings, stickers, etc. made in Italy. I enjoy my Omegas and may never own a badger. I might consider a Semogue.

I shunned my Semogue 1305 for a long time until I started to face-lather. Then I started to really appreciate it.
