Had a piece of 3mm copper plate that I stuck on the bottom and put a cap from a soda bottle at the right depth to carry the knot, the cap has knarls and rough edges and epoxied in very well... Just a clean up and glued the knot in...sooo easy..I may experiment more with plumbing fittings, I have large brass fittings but these are very heavy...probably 4oz or more.
Plastic pipe could be a option where it could be engraved and painted/lacquered...but I think that would need bottom weights ....a whole new world of Industrial brushes

Ha! I like it! What's going on underneath? Is that an end cap?
