I finally tried one of the scent blend I made with corn huskers lotions and EO. Went with the lavender scents. It felt good on my face and the scents was nice. It felt like it softens up my skin, I'm not entirely sure if it softened my beard. I like that it washes off a bit easier than the PSO. But the Corn huskers might need to be reapplied before each pass to help protect the skin with the friction from the blade (because it washes off easily) Overall it felt nice and I think it helps with the shave, but I need to use it a couple more times to know that it's not placebo effect =P @RaZorBurn123
I find I prefer to use PSOs with most of my shaves—especially when using a straight razor. Placebo? Possibly, but I do know I very rarely suffer from any razor burn or irritation in my shaves, and I tend to use very aggressive DE razors when not using straights.
Since I bought PSO and made some myself I have always used it. I'm not good enough at shaving to be able to blame bad results on a pre shave oil or balm =P but I'm gonna try without next time I shave =D same setup without any pre, and then once with both pre
Hi I feel it does give a bit of extra glide to the shave and keeps the skin soft after the shower. I find that i might prefer the feeling of massaging preshave oil into the skin and how it feels on the skin. But oils doesn't wash of as easily. I'm stil not done with trying it out. I don't shave every day =P so I need a couple more shaves to decide wich I like best
