I wonder if anyone here has seen this website and the opinion of it as far as fast service or slow,if the merchandise lives up to the hype? I just found it today and was browsing thru it and it has quite an array of shaving stuff, all collectible it seems like. happy hunting. www.countryjoescollectiblestuff.com
I can vouch for Countryjoe. Last year I hooked Birdlives / Lloyd up with his Black Tip Beauty in this thread. I thought I had to correct birth year razor at first, but I was wrong and a quick purchase from Countryjoe saved the day!
I've purchased from them more then once. The product has been good except for one time where he exchanged the razor without hesitation. The one time, one of the blade stops on an injector was not holding the blade straight. I sent an email and shipped it back. He offered up a nice replacement and sent it out the next day.
Joe is a good guy with reasonable prices. I have purchased a few razors from him and have always been satisfied. Len
Same deal...The '52 Black Tip that the Stingster got me from Country Joe, for my birthday was exemplary...I'm still smiling....
A good guy. I've purchased several times from his site, mostly from the razor blades section when I needed blades to complete a razor set in my collection. The site design itself is clumsy but it works. Shipping has been same day unless I bought on a weekend.
Country Joe's... I have done business with him and his pictures and descriptions are very accurate. Shipping is performed in a very timely manner. His customer service is excellent. One time I placed an order and then changed my mind on something and wanted something else that was 50 cents more expensive. He said to just send back the razor I didn't want and he sent the one I wanted. The one I wanted was a little more but he told not to worry about it. I went ahead and sent the 50 cents anyways for his trouble. Top rate guy and would do business with him in the future.
While I have never purchased anything through the site, his reputation as an outstanding vendor was legendary. Hopefully his family will continue to provide the excellent customer service he became known for. Truly a loss to the wetshaving community. Obit.
Wow. I had no idea he had passed away. Haven't seen mention of it on any of the shaving forums. I knew he was sick at one point but he returned to B&B. I had noticed the razor stock dwindled and that section of the web site had been cleaned up but never considered or put 2 and 2 together... sad to hear...
That's a shame. He occasionally posted here and on B&B, and it seems to me he did mention being under therapy for cancer once. Only belatedly hearing that he had actually passed away, though.
nice feedback. Wow..really sorry to hear that this person, who I never knew passed away, for what I gather he was an icon in the wet shaving community, persons like him make our hobby way more enjoyable am sure.my condolences to the family. thank you everybody for giving me such great feedback in such short time,I will be placing an order soon due to the fact that am moving to another country soon and am planning to take with me as much shaving goodies so as not to incur in big shipping expenses.also I will be checking out the place for shaving items that are from that region of the world only and see whats good there.oh yeah..I am moving to the Philippines, almost forgot.
Moving to another country... are you military? You list your location as Ft. Gordon so maybe you are military. A lot of us here are ex-military, including myself. If you are military, and you require shave stuff, what is it that you want? Perhaps we have something that you want, and if it is in my collection and you are shipping overseas, what is mine is yours. Just ask!
Thanks a lot. I was planning really to make a "goodbye"kind of tread but here it goes anyway..really is not goodbye,am just moving to another country, and yes as of right now I am still a US Soldier in Ft Gordon,GA,am originally from Ft Bragg but after my 3rd Deployment which was in Afghanistan and having been injured, the Army has finally decided to medically retire me with a 60%disability rate,am I mad?more like sad, leading men in combat operations was an honor for somebody like me that was born in a Communist country,Cuba,I have been married for 16 years to my lovely wife who is from Philippines herself and i guess she had enough of Army stuff and so for once I will be following her,I wish the best to each and one of you about everything in life...Jeff,thanks for the very kind offer,it means a lot to me...I will keep in contact,I will just change my location once I move.don't know what else to say but I have learn a lot here and will continue to do so.this hobby has made my time pass by fast and has made it enjoyable between therapy and therapy hahaha!!
