I got this shaving soap as a gift from my wife. At first I was not too impressed, however, it certainly has grown on me since using it. It lathers very well especially if you use a larger bowl rather than a small cup. I found it very easy to shave with and the smell was just fantastic. Lingers on for quite a bit. What I especially love about this shaving soap is that it must contain some ingredient that really opens up the pores and the hair just sticks right out since I found I got an especially closer shave than other shaving soaps. No doubt this is a top-notch, high-quality product. I also use a face scrub (exfoliator) before shaving and my does it ever help me get a better shave.

This is a very nice soap. In terms of performance, I think its in the middle of the pack, but the scent...fagedaoudit. Its out of this world. I don't have sensative skin so irritation has not been an issue for me. At this price ($18.00 in a nice wooden bowl I'll be keeping this around. I feel the same way about the Nomad soap.

My wife surprised me with a puck of this for Christmas - it was love at first shave. The leathery scent of this soap is wonderful - so much so that I got the matching AS balm and am contemplating the cologne. I gave the price a 10 because $8 for a refill is an incredible price for a good glycerin soap - and this is triple milled! I get great shaves with it - not the best lather, but the entire experience, the shave and the smell. By far my favorite C&E scent. They better not discontinue this like they did the Sweet Almond Oil.

    C @ E Sienna-------A Favorite

I have been shaving for more than fifty years and this is one of my favorite soaps, although only discovered by me about five years ago. I think that the brand and the particular scent reminds me of Yardley, which was my staple for years. The efficacy of this soap is tops, in my view. It works well, is efficient, reliable and predictable. I use this product about once a week, with a range of brushes, but always with an Aristocrat razor and with a Sharp, Dorco or Derby blade. The results are consistently excellent. After four passes there is always plenty of lather in the scuttle and on the brush. Sometimes, I don't bother with an aftershave, but just rub some extra lather on my face.

Where I lived until several years ago, near Albany, NY, there was a Crabtree and Evelyn store where I relished going to on a regular basis. I now live in Greensboro, NC, and have not been able to locate a branch in this area. I am getting low on the puck and will be obtaining a refill via Internet.

Oh, the above reviews are great. This is a great site. (I hope that I press the right button to send this properly.)

    Regards to all,

    great soap, bad price

The scent of C&E Sienna soap is super, the lather is from a Garden of Eden, and the skincare is good as well. My complaint is, it is soooooo expensive here in Montreal, that's what would stop me from buying it again.
