Creams similar to The Body Shop Maca Root and Muhle Sea Buckthorn

    Hi,

I am a newbie as far as using silvertip badger brush and top notch shave creams. I recently acquired a Muhle silvertip brush and Muhle’s own Sea Buckthorn shave cream. I have also tried TBS Maca Root Shave Cream recently.

I must state that I am extremely happy I made this transition from using canned goop (Gillette etc) to a nice brush + cream combo. Wish I had discovered this pleasure a long time back.

Both these creams are outstanding, though the Muhle Sea Buckthorn is significantly more expensive (Euro 15 for 100 gms – Muhle v/ Euro 10 for 180 gms - TBS). I stay in India and hence have to import the Muhle creams. TBS is available locally and easily.

I would like to try some of the famous English creams such as TOBS, Trumpers, D R Harris etc. I’ll be buying these creams online and importing them to India.

I need recommendations on English creams that will offer similar shave qualities of the 2 creams I have used so far. In particular, I am looking for outstanding moisturisation, cushion, thick meringue like lather and a nice fragrance. Basically, creams which leave my face feeling so good, I can dispense with an after shave lotion / balm altogether.

So which creams will your recommend?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Namaste! :)

Although I realize this may not have anything at all to do with you are looking for, your local Indian creams such as Godrej Deluxe are probably far better than anything from The Body Shop, and a lot cheaper as well! The only English cream which may be approximately a match is a very cheap one, named Erasmic. I don't know if it is available in India, however. Your Godrej creams are mega-top quality. :)

My friend, it is so hard to say. :o D'amaris is a Palmolive product, as you know, and anything from Palmolive is wonderful, and the Godrej creams are in the same category, at least to me. :)

I'm asking because I was thinking if it's worth the effort to buy Godrej from other country (on-line, of course) or just get the d'amaris from the local stores. I guess the answers is YES :happy102 There is no such thing as too much/too many. I also spotted ARKO... hmmm, it sound like shopping tomorrow :angelic007

bone_china, sorry for hijacking your post :D

Ohhhhhhh, if I were you, I suppose I'd grab a couple of D'amaris tubes. ;) As I said, great stuff for a small price.

I vote for Trufitt and Hill, the Trafalgar is awesome followed by Grafton and 1805 haven't smelled the others. Tried a sample of Trumper's Violet and it's nice as well. Had a sample of TOBS but didn't care for it can't remember the scent though. Definately pick up some Godrej any flavor is excellent.
