Heard about Cremo on the podcast I listen to. Pittsburgh ked it up at Walgreens. So far I really like it. I also add it to soaps I have and works well.
I tried Creamo, but found I didn't like it. So I wound up PIFing it to a friend. Did you use it with or without a brush?
I didn't care for it myself. For me, the smell was horrendous and it didn't perform well. But, as they say, YMMV.

I used Cremo before I made the switch to DE razors and continued to use it for a while afterwards. I think it's a fantastic product when used as directed. It's not intended for use with a brush, nor does it lather. I recommend Cremo to those guys i know who use cartridges. I hardly ever use it anymore though because I use a brush and lather bowl exclusively. I'm pretty sure SWMBO is using it on her legs.
I add a little dab to the artisan soaps I have, heard about this lil trick on podcast on wet shaving. Seams to help.
I picked up a tube of Cremo at WalMart last night. I tried it this morning with a brush. I was sorely disappointed. I thought the part on the tube where it said it was "impossibly slick" was what made me want to try it. I didn't find it any better than using hand soap on my face, however. It was hurting so bad to shave, I only did one pass. I may end up donating this as a PIF item. I doubt I'll try it again unless someone can tell me what I did wrong and I try it again. I took a hot shower and washed and hydrated my face in the shower. I splashed with hot water before putting an almond size (as it suggested on the tube) amount in my wet brush. I tried to work up a lather on my face and in my hand with the brush. No success. I spread it on my face anyway, but it was thin and overly wet. No body to it at all... and it wasn't that slick. I was expecting a rich lather. I'm open to suggestions to try some other cream or soap that will give me the slick cushion and a nice lather. Thanks, all.
Alas, You failed to read the tube before using. Cremo is not soap, nor is it a conventional shave cream. If you follow their instructions, Cremo works as advertised. I used it back before i made the switch to wet shaving, back when I used carts and shaved in the shower. PIF it to a cartridge shaver.
I hear you, I find myself trending towards the more popular named creams, porasso, arko, spieck. They to me, are easier to work up a lather without having to add anything but a little elbow grease
Good news. Thanks to Omaney I read the instructions this time and experienced a much better shaving experience this morning than yesterday. The trick with Cremo is to keep it wet. Like it says on the tube, it is activated by water. I found that even after I shaved off the layer and reapplied my wet hand to the residue, it still was slick enough to go another pass. Even with this new and better experience, I still think I prefer working with lather, so I may not use this much or at all in the future. I may reserve the remainder to use as a PIF item and go back to soaps.
I'll still use Cremo once in a while if I'm in a rush. Then it's shave in the shower time. Cremo is perfection for that.
I'm only now starting to appreciate Cremo. I've had a tube for awhile, tried it with and without a brush, used it under other difficult to lather creams or soaps to add some slickness, but for whatever reason, the last shave I had with it (when I was in a hurry -see post above) turned out very well. Second pass does not require more Cremo, just some water on the face. I will try it with a straight next - when I'm not in a hurry.
