Having spent a fortune on various talcs. I came across this in our local Superdrug and it's dirt cheap too. It not only feels and smells very nice but is only £1.05 a tub. I found baby powder too scented and Clubman just stunk like carpet cleaner and was like $10 a tub. I was apprehensive to try this as I'd tried the soap before and didn't like it as it was TOO soapy so thought it would be similar to that. But last week I had run out and this was my only option so bought some. I couldn't really complain at the price either. All I can say is WOW! I wish I'd discovered this ages ago. What a lovely fresh cologne scent and it's white too so unlike the pink dyed Clubman it doesn't stain my flannel. I don't know if it's available in the US but it might be worth seeing if it's available to order as I highly recommend it to anyone who post shaves with talc. www.superdrug.com/Imperial-Leather/Imperial-Leather-Original-Talcum-Powder-300g/p/52688
I have recently been trying different talcs. The Clubman comes in flesh color and white, and has a great scent. Avon makes some good vintage talcs also. May have to check out this Cussons Imperial Leather talc.
I'm getting my haircut tomorrow-I bet the barberette will finish it by slapping some Clubman on the back of my neck.
It can be hit or miss. My barber used the aftershave the first time I went there, but didn't the second time. It may be worth asking if they have it, it couldn't hurt.
Let me tell you something about Clubman. It's an acquired smell. Some love it and some don't. I didn't like it. Thought it smelled too much like the stuff they use to clean and freshen carpets in hotels. It's not unpleasant but not a smell I associate with putting on my skin. If a cologne was advertised as having the fresh manly scent of upholstery cleaner would you bother to buy it? I had the pink, or as you call it, skin tone Clubman. Although skin tone is a slight exaggeration unless you have skin like a Chinese Geisha and found that when the talc comes in to contact with surfaces that are damp or wet, the pink dye leached out of the talc and stains whatever it lands on whether it be flooring or the side of the bath or a face flannel. I found this out by accident after slapping some on in front of the mirror and some landed on my bathroom vinyl floor which was slightly wet. I never noticed at first but a day later I saw that I had pink speckles all over my floor which wouldn't come off as it had literally stained my floor like a permanent marker. Some flew over the side of my resin bathtub and landed on the side and I had to soak the spot with thick bleach for 10 minutes before it came off. Not sure I want to put something like that on my skin if it's strong enough to dye plastic. I paid about $14 for this which included shipping it to the UK. When it arrived I was quite disappointed as it was described as a manly smell and despite it being sold as super fine talc I found it no better than the stuff you buy from a discount store for a third of the price. I ended up throwing it away. Having discovered Cussons I won't be using anything else now.
