Lou @cubancigar2000 sent me a razor in need of some help and requested new scales. The 3/4" round-tipped, double-shouldered blade was in pretty good shape despite some deep scratches on both sides. Blade required some hand-sanding and clean-up. Micro-mesh finish up to 12k. Restoration Specs: Blade - Böhler-Stahl Solingen-made carbon steel blade; 3/4" wide, full-hollow; upper jimps, Etched blade with gold wash Scales: Acrylester (acrylic) 'Crushed Cranberry' .120" thickness; 3-pin. Wedge: White bone and solid brass borders Hardware: Solid brass pins and domed stacked brass washers. Brass inner washers; brass spacer (3rd pin); decorative brass lion's head. Honing: Bevel set- Naniwa 1k; Progression - Naniwa 3k, 5k, 8k, 12k, Escher water hone. FINAL PICS

The Lion's head really made the pins stand out against the dark red scales. It was an artistic move that payed off well.
Well SINCE it is an Italian blade —despite the Solingen blade origin—I figured the use of lion's head was apropos as it is a historical symbol of Italian strength and royalty...
