Ever since I got a wood handle from @Jayaruh for my Little Lather Catcher, I've been wanting to put together a case for it. A regular case wouldn't work because of the thickness of the handle. I had this Ever-Ready case for a while, which I got from a bundle of things. As you can see from the first two pics, it was kinda crappy, with the second pic after removing some of it's covering.......... This third pic after I added black paint to the recessed areas of the metal logo and using a well worn very fine sanding sponge to clean up and shine the letters, then glued on.......... The case has already been textured, painted black and clear coated. I added red felt to the bottom and made parts for the rest of the lining to fit the parts.......... The inside of the bottom of the case with everything added and lined.......... The case now complete with the clasp and hinges installed..........
Wow! That's incredible. It looks like it belongs there Is that a 1914? How does it shave? I assume you like it as you had a custom handle made and constructed your own matching storage box. I just located one of these for a good price on the bay and am eager to try it. Props for your work! Josh Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
What do you use to glue down the felt. I had always used upholstery adhesive from an aerosol can but I don’t care for it.
On this particular case, I used Super Glue Gel on those areas which aren't seen, in case of bleed through. Like the sides or bottoms of the pieces being lined, they were done individually. On other parts I've been using Allary Craft & Hobby Liquid Adhesive. Looks like Elmer's, but dries a lot quicker. I spread it thin with my finger, and applying the felt lightly, not pressing, also to avoid bleed through. And on the bottom with the flat piece of felt, I used the type of two sided tape that's commonly used for putting plastic film on house windows for insulation. Sometimes you can find it in tape dispensers, like scotch tape.
