Custom scales on Vintage Fredrick Reynolds

Obtained this razor with some old horn scales. The old scales were cracking and falling apart so I grabbed some 1/4 inch sheets of hardwood and went to town. Scales came out incredible. I decided to pin them with some micro hardware. This is my first set of custom scales and I do plane on doing more restorations in the future. Hope you like what ya see!

Kyle, if you still visit the forum, what wood did you use and how did you finish it?

Kinda looks like olive wood with maybe a tung or BLO finish? Just spitballing though......

 

I'm thinking of making my own and I like the looks of these scales.
