Here we have a Halsted 7/8 that really needed a good scrubbing up. It was nearly black at the start. Brass spacer and pins. Finish is 8 coats of CA. I ain't gonna say what the scales are..... you tell me.... :happy102
I still have a bit of polishing to do to the pins and spacer, then it's going up for sale.

Great work as usual. The last picture is fantastic but you need to explain how you can manage to shave with the same razor you're using for a shaving mirror :happy102

Nice job. Very nice. Since it was so black how did you polish it up so well?

Had to flog it on the buffer for a long time. Used the 3M Radial Bristle Discs first..... all 8 of them. Then the buffing wheels, 6 different grades of polishing pastes. PITA!!!
    But it works...:happy102

I think the scales are made of cork wood. Am I right?

Hmm... I gonna guess chipboard for the wood.

The scales are made from a piece of "GLULAM" that I had in the wood pile.

The GLULAM looks really nice, amazingly! Did you need to fill in cracks and voids between the layers, or is it fairly solid.

Most of the wood was pretty solid, I made sure of that when I made my cuts.
