Here is another good cream from Turkey which is no-frills and very useful. It is made by another company which is little-known, and has absolutely NOTHING to do with Evyap Industries, which produce the Arko shaving line. Ease of lathering: 10/10--A minimum of cream gives a maximum of rich lather! Longevity of lather: 10/10--Perfect stability for multi-passes. General skincare: 8/10--Very moisturizing and soothing. Scent: 7/10--That's the only area where I had to deduct some points. Still, not bad. Price: N/A--I don't know. It was a gift. Would I buy again: 8/10--Most probably I would if I could find it. Turkey is also known for excellent wetshaving stuff, and is becoming, if it hasn't already, one of the largest producers. This cream has amazing lather which lasts very well, and gives terrific awesome razor glide and skincare. Although this cream is called the "Cool" variant, I feel no cooling sensation from it. Still, I recommend this cream, especially for sensitive skin. It is produced by Dalan Kimya Industries in Izmir.
Master Joda provided me with a tube of this cream. It has a very interesting scent. May be the seaweed that causes the scent. It does not smell bad, just different. Good cream.
Love me some Dalan! Good stuff and super cheap! I prefer the Sensitive "flavor" myself. The best smelling of the 3 flavors they make.
But I'm afraid it fails miserably in the availability column.... I live in Turkey and they don't market it in this country...It's made only for exporting... And when I contacted these people about how to acquire their product, they were not only unhelpful but rude and insulting... I wouldn't use it now if they gave it to me....Its a pity... Luckily there are some companies out there who do deserve our support.... Hey....but don't let me rain on your parade...lol If you can get it and you love it....Then by all means ENJOY The owners might be good people who deserve your support.....but if that is the case they sure have some (plural) disgusting people working for them...but that can happen....
I picked up some of the "Sensitive" in a PIF here last march (from etoyoc, as I recall) and I enjoy it quite a bit.
That's bad. Have you tried Mirac Turkdeniz, up in Bursa (bestshave.net). I just received an assortment of Dalan and Arko shaves and some of that wonderful lemon cologne that my wife and I remembered from our two year stay in Izmir about 40 years ago.
Lloyd, I'm so sorry you had to go through that trouble. That company should be more diplomatic to the public sector. A nice guy like you deserves much better treatment than that.
Thanks my friend....I believe everyone deserves more respect than that...I spoke with people at the factory in Izmir and people at the office in Istanbul where they export it, and got bad service at both places...But at the export facility the man said for me to come there and he'd take care of me...So I went there and was very polite and he starts laughing and saying that we are not a retail store...Do you think that because your American you can come in here and we'll kiss your....... Yep.....It was like that....I had to leave before things got physical....I was shaking I was so angry.... Anyway....Ignorance is like that...doesn't really reflect on the company...just maybe their employees who speak English...
Oyyyyyy, if my brother-in-law would have been there, things would have gotten physical - VERY physical. I thought I have a bad temper if I get mad, but my brother-in-law is even worse. He would taken the guy who said that, and broken every bone in his body..........Itzhak (my brother-in-law) is a sweet guy, but if he gets mad, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Based on your experience, I can't see myself ever buying any of their products again. I get PO'd just reading this.
I think I agree with you. I contacted a Bulgarian company once to try to bring in some creams and aftershave balsams for some friends of mine as well as for myself, and they were not only very sarcastic, but at the end the representative thought it was a joke I was making and he slammed the phone down in my ears.
Say Jeff....Why don't you send Itzhak on over and I'll introduce him to the nice folks at Dalan....lol....and we need someone with a video....ha,ha,ha... Just kidding...theres already enough social unrest in the middle east...we don't need to start Shaving Cream Wars.... For now I'm sticking with Arko....You know, I'm not a fan of Derby myself...but those folks are the nicest people you'd ever want to meet... I told one I'd like to try their DE blades sometime and they had a courier deliever me about 5 years worth.... I couldn't believe it....and when I called them back they didn't want anything...they just wanted to be nice...
LOOOLLLLLLLLLLL seriously, this guy is brutal - he heats up if he even hears a sarcastic remark. I'm vicious also if I'm provoked, but this guy is a horror which even shattered a policeman's face permanently over a parking ticket, and he got away winning a lawsuit against the City of Montreal for it. The policeman grabbed him by the collar, and Itzhak stepped back and started smashing the idiot to pieces. He had 4 witnesses and he sued the city and won the case.
Wow... Sorry man, if I was there with you, I probably would have broke his nose and told him I was going to his mother or sister's house for dinner. I picked up a tube from the travel box, it's good stuff. But if I were you, I'd embargo them too.
The problem is that you are an American and it gives them some small piece of satisfaction to give you grief. Sorry to hear about the insolent treatment.
Lloyd, I have half a tube remaining, but I will not make any purchases from them after your incident. If they don't want you as a customer, they sure don't want me as one.
That's right. If they screw one of us over, they screw us all. I haven't even used my tube of the stuff yet.
Course as a disclaimer....non of this was an official view of the company or owners...just the English speaking employees that I could reach....maybe the owners are nice....I tried to reach them...but with the language difficulties I had no luck...
I like Mirac Turkdeniz from Bestshave. I ordered from him once and his service is very nice. I would buy from him again.
