    Me, being a watchful, but not over protective parent is what I consider "Good Parenting". Unless you have daughters, you pretty much can't get it.
    Me, I say watch over your kids, like a hawk, until they are able to look after themselves. But, don't smother them. Know what, when, and where. Also, don't trust those, who aren't immediate family members.
    Just today, I had a case where a trusted family friend spent the night, on the couch. During the night, he crept into an 11 yr olds room, and molested him. Parents knew nothing, until morning.
