I’ve got a couple of used up bottles of Ogallala Bay Rum aftershave laying around. I’d like to repurpose the bottles for something else, but I can’t seem to get rid of the residual scent. Any suggestions?

If the bottles are plastic, you'll have a hard time getting rid of any residual.
If the bottles are glass then I recommend what @Enrico suggested or possibly using vinegar/water.

Make a bath (sink full) of HOT water with 2 scoops of OxiClean.
Soak for 15 minutes or until scent is gone.

I use this to sterilize and de-label beer bottles for refilling.
    Works great.

I was going to suggest this as well, as I'm a home brewer myself. I usually have PBW on hand and it's really just an extra strength OxiClean.

I miss brewing. Lol. I sold all my brewing equipment to buy a riding mower as I had a car crash and it hurts my shoulder to push mow. I did help a local brewery brew a few times approx 500 gal batches.

Yes PBW is a heck of a cleaner you can find on amazon. I still use it for my coffee maker
