When I started DE shaving I gave myself a serious case of ingrown hairs and I'm my desperate search for relief I came across a paste that kicked ingrown hairs/razor bumps butt. Aspirin can help reduce redness and inflammation, the two most common symptoms of ingrown hair. The anti-inflammatory property of aspirin reduces swelling, fights inflammation and treats mild infection. Plus, the salicylic acid present in aspirin scrubs away dead skin to loosen the offending hair. Ingrown Hair Paste. Soak two - three aspirin tablets in one teaspoon of warm water until it forms a paste-like consistency. Add one teaspoon of honey to the paste. Apply the paste to the affected area. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Wash it off with warm water and then gently pat the skin dry. Follow this remedy once or twice a week as needed. Note: Those with highly sensitive skin should not follow this remedy.
I would try a little bit at first, as I would put myself in the highly sensitive skin category and it worked wonders for me.
The only place I get ingrowns at times in on my neck area, which is my source of irritation and most sensitive area. I may try a bit. So what's the negative side effect if this doesn't work?
If your really want to nix the ingrown, use a warm compress on the area before applying the paste. Thanks for the recipe.
I think it is the stearic acid in the paste may cause some skin irritation. Thanks for the tip makes perfect sense I will try a hot compress next time! Gary
You can also try making DIY Tendskin. 20 times cheaper than real TendSkin and works better because you can fine tune it with more or less aspirin.
