I would like to try making my own pre shave oil but I don't know where to start. Do you have a favorite oil combo you would share?

There should be a few threads in this forum about DIY pre-shave oils.

I looked through a few pages but didn't see anything on it so I figured I'd try my own post for responses

Sweet almond oil is pretty good. Add any essential oils that you may like.

    • 1 part olive oil
    • 15+ drops Essential Oil of your choice
    Another simple recipe.....

    • 20ml Castor Oil
    • 10ml Olive Oil
    • 5ml Vitamin E Oil
    • 10 drops Essential Oil (your choice)
    Woodsy recipe.....
    • 15ml Castor Oil
    • 15ml Jojoba Oil
    • 4 drops Tea Tree Oil
    • 4 drops Pine Oil

I've used the castor oil, olive oil, and essential oil, for a couple of years. I also added a couple of drops of alcohol, to preserve it.
That said, I have found shaving without oil much better. Less messy, and the facial hairs seem to become better hydrated, which translated to closer, more comfortable shaves.

The only time I might do it now is when my face seems a bit irritated. Only happens at times when it's really hot outside.
