I begin by washing my soap in water as hot as it can bear. A preshave oil is entirely at the user's discretion. Thus far, I have achieved the best results with a Merkur HD and a Feather blade. YMMV, of course. Properly negotiated, three passes are more than sufficient--the first WTG, the second ATG, and the final pass XTG.

I finish with a splash of AS or EDT in a complementary scent. MARVELOUS!

I don't wash the soap after usage unless, it's going out on a sale/trade. Then I wash it well and pat it completely dry before sending.

Try wash my soap once though it in the dishwasher after I was done wth it fun thing after the dishwasher was done my soap was gone but man my dishes looked and smelled good and the glasses were spot free ummm might be on to something here.
