This antiperspirant http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CHHKKJU/?tag=thshde-20 doesn't work for me. After I go out of the shower I towel dry my armpits and I apply the antiperspirant. It doesn't even last an hour till I feel wetness under the armpits and there are stains on my t shirt. My armpits are also very greasy to the touch after I apply the stuff. Anyone else experience this?
I've been using Crystal Stick. It's unscented and very economical. Best of all it keeps me dry and odor free, when used daily.
I gave up on anti-persps long ago and use either Crystal or just a plain deo. But, in your case, could it be that "the forest" if preventing the product from reaching skin? A little light (or heavy) deforestation / trim often helps as anti-persp must contact skin in order to work well.
I use Certain-Dri products. They're the only ones that can keep me dry. I use the regular one at night before bed occasionally, and the refresher every morning. I'm extremely hot natured and live in a crazy humid area, so they definitely have their work cut out for them.
I have switched from anti perspirant to regular deodorant. the AP would stain my shirts and I feel that the regular deodorant doesn't clog my pores as much and works quite well.
FWIW, in the last week I've switched off of Dove Men's Deo as it was irritating my pits (foliculitis-like bumps). I've switched to Arm & Hammer Natural (I think that's the name)... which contains tea tree oil which I'm not crazy about using... but my pits are healing and the odor control has been even better (ie: near perfect)... now can someone please define "run on sentence" for me?
Work requires business shirts. Though odor isn't my problem, major sweating is. Switched to Degree years ago, no problem since. At about $5. it ain't cheap (I may just try the Arm&Hammer above for the price), but a good product to eliminate my problem is worth the price. Nearly scent free as well. Also, though the Degree has never given me a clogged pore issue, perhaps I'll attempt the pit trimmer suggestion? Is there a separate TSD thread for that? Carts? electric? perhaps a straight edge?
I'd trim to fairly short with a beard trimmer first. Then any razor will do if you want to go smooth. Otherwise, you'll just clog your razor if you don't trim first. I would avoid using electric to shave smooth as they tend to yank when they cut.
oh my that's rich! Perhaps this is a generational thing, and I'm on the other, old end of that spectrum. oops.
edit: one other thing... if you do go smooth, gentle exfoliation may well become your friend depending on your skin and hair. An ingrown pit hair is not fun. Trust me on this. And also plan on some possible irritation the first few times. Baby powder or aloe gel work wonders tho. And best not to apply deo immediately after shaving as it may be irritating.
it's true, I know. I'd like to think that despite my brittle bones, my mind remains flexible. But sometimes I still step right into one like this. sorry.
@richgem what's your beef with tea tree oil? I use electric clippers on the pits. Like smaller grooming ones. Works great for that and orher places. No need for a BBS there
