The Dovo half of Dovo Merkur, two affiliated but independent companies, filed for insolvency yesterday. Should they not find investors tis could mean the end of a brand with a long history of straights, scissors and the like. Merkur, so the managing director explained, will continue.

The German forum where I moderate was in touch with the managing director. Basically, shrinking orders for this year means it was not feasible to continue. They are however looking for investors/buyers. With Merkur, orders are good, so they're running fine. All Dovo needs, and Merkur continues to need, is people buying their products.
