OK, I found a kabuki brush at Target that is amazingly dense and soft but very little handle. Found another at Ultra , eco tools, now, if I can somehow combine handle of ecotools with head of smaller brush.

Lather Test? Have you tried shaving with them?

Tried bother with a soap. Short one holds tons of lather but handle is just way too short. The eco isn't as dense and doesn't hold as much. Hence my dilemma.

I also peeked at the kabuki brush in the cosmetic dept. There was two different types. I saw the one with the silver ring like the one you have pictured, but I saw another one with the elf brand and a black band. I think it had a taller loft and wasn't as dense. Of course, I can't bring myself to try and lather with an intended make-up brush. Good luck.

That Ecotools brush was my first shaving brush. It was, at the time, highly recommended as a cheap option by Leisure Guy.

It is very capable of whipping up lather and it's extremely soft. On the downside, it has no backbone whatsoever and the knot just doesn't hold much lather.

Okay--not great, but okay--for bowl lathering, terrible for face lathering.
