Also dollar stores, grocery stores, etc. Cheaper on the website though I'm sure. I think they have a big 3 month pack there of various razors for like $30 or maybe less.
I'm surprised Gillette is selling direct https://www.gilletteshaveclub.com/ as this is a direct attack on their relationship with national retailers. If I was Walmart, CVS, etc. I'd be focusing on non-Gillette brands such as Edgewell's Wilkinson Sword, while looking to make my own high end cartridge brand (perhaps under https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Walmart_brands#Equate) and then push Gillette to the back of the aisle.
They have shave plans on Amazon since 2009, way before DSC. But let's not let the truth get in the way ...
Usually when a manufacturer sells through its own site the prices are above wholesale which allows other retailers to cut their price and still make a profit. Often there is a contractual agreement that the manufacturer will not undercut its retailers.
I only use Gillette carts, so I basically go wherever the price is lowest, so long as the source is reliable. Since that can vary depending on the day of the week, I never subscribe.
I hear the $1.50-$2, five blade carts work well, but what and insane price. The only cart i use is the Gillette Guard, sold only in the emerging markets, but we can buy them on Ebay. At 27ยข/blade for Guard the cost per shave is about the same as a DE, because of their longevity. I don't let any other cart in my house. Love DEs and the Gillette Guard.
