The first time I saw this resin I was very interested, but when Bob posted this handle style I pulled the trigger. The knot is a 26mm Manchurian White fan. Because most of the handle is clear the knot and it's carrier (?) are visible, as well as the identifier on the bottom and the epoxy that mounts it to the handle. I suppose I expected these elements to be obscured but I handn't thought much about it. The handle shape is terrific as is the presentation of the colors within. Definitely unique, and definitely a fabulous knot. The knot is still a bit damp from shampoo and lathers, but I wanted to take some quick pics in the nice afternoon light.
Thanks Andrew. It certainly stands out in the den and the knot is comparable with any of the top quality knots I have.
Wowsers that's cool. I wonder if you painted the knot base a color to match the resin colors to hide it a bit more. But either way it's a very unique and cool brush
It's from Elite. Bob has been carrying these for a while. I have a 24mm bulb set in a lapis handle that is also outstanding. These are great knots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Really cool handle. I agree with the sentiment that it's a bit strange with the base of the knot and the epoxy being visible but that seems inevitable when it comes to clear handles.
It doesn't have to be inevitable. I've seen some members, around here, paint the inside, to hide the plug and epoxy. It really does look nice that way. Clear looks nice, but I would be hesitant about mildew or soap buildup becoming visible.
Is the knot set in silicone or epoxy?? If silicone, you could pull the knot out, and paint the inside with the same design. Testers Model paint would work. This is only if it starts to discolor, and if it's set in silicone.
